On this day:

the pink elephant

I have been blogging lazy....one of my New Year's resolutions was to be more consistent with updating Openintro.com. This means 1) adding a picture gallery, 2) changing the cruddy Blogger template to something MUCH more cool, 3) adding an "I Endorse" section of links which will....link to...well....things I endorse (an idea I always think of when I am at yoga, oddly enough)! 4) And finally and most importantly, updating my blog at LEAST a couple times a week. So hopefully I will get a move on....but considering I have a million other things to do as well, who knows when all this will get done.

My beloved computer decided to have a complete hard drive crash a few days before Christmas, so I have been without an email client and pretty much ALL MY FILES for a couple weeks now. Hopefully I will be sending it off for data recovery soon so that I can save all the data (which would cause me to shed some SERIOUS tears if I couldn't) and reinstall a new hard drive. But that would mean that I have a free $400-$500 to spend right now....and I don't....So if anyone would like to
they are more than welcome :)

I am currently doing a double-blind study at Sylvana Research over the course of the next 35 days or so regarding Transient Sleeplessness and the use of a drug known as Neurontin. The drug is already FDA approved for things such as seizures, but Pfizer is doing studies with SMALL doses of the drug in hopes of releasing it as an over-the-counter drug to help with transient sleeplessness. Since my sleep patterns are not all that great and my insomnia is transient most of the time, I figured I was a good candidate. So I went for Visit 1 yesterday, received the meds (two tablets 30 minutes before bedtime each night) and I have to fill out a questionaire each morning. I get paid $150 at the end of the study, so that should be nice :) I can apply that to my SAVE MY COMPUTER FUND!

So after the Ashlee Simpson SNL incident, you'd think singers would be more concious that every one is looking out for the lip syncing. Not "it-girl" Linday Lohan....she recently went on Good Morning America and had a few screw-ups with the vocals. If you fast forward to about 38 seconds in the clip, you can see where it gets really bad.

How cool would it be to be at the CES conference in Las Vegas? VERY....being the "new gadget" junkie that I am, that would be heaven. And of course, it's in VEGAS! This year I'll just drool at the reviews posted over at Gizmodo and Engadget.

Oh! Bowling for Soup was on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Tuesday! How cool is that?!

Definitely their best TV performance to date....

Well, I have taken my study pills and I now need to go to bed....maybe they are actually helping me :) Off to fall asleep as I watch the conclusion of Homeless Jeopardy on the Howard Stern Show....better than a bedtime story....
