One of my New Years resolutions is going to be to blog more on here! I have a lot of ideas for how I want it to go.....

Scotch

We went in to get cat litter and cat food....

....we came out with cat litter, cat food AND A NEW KITTEN!



We were walking by and a lady named Amy from the Schertz Humane Society was just bringing the kitten out of the cage because she was about to leave Petsmart for the day. And we were remarking how pretty this all-white kitten was. So we held her for a bit and talked to Amy (who had been keeping the kitten at her place for the time being) and Tara really fell in love with her. We usually go into the pet store and I find a kitten that I want to take home, but Tara will have nothing to do with it, so this was quite a change for Tara. After talking it though and deciding whether we should wait or not, we decided we should go for it....she was just too adorable. She is avery LOVING cat. Loves to be held and lay all over you. Scotch is the name that Tara has come up with....it might just stick :) You can see our kitty's adoption page here....just scroll down for "Amy." Kid has not yet warmed to her. In fact, he is being quite the little turd right now. Hissing and being a bit mean to us about it. He'll get over it though :)



I sitll want a Scottish Fold kitten....we just might end up with 3 cats running around over here soon enough! lol...More later :)

R.I.P. Dimebag

I was going to post up pictures of our Christmas tree and post up a bunch of funny links and stories I had found lately, but just found out some disturbing news....

At the Alrosa Villa, a nightclub in Columbus, OH, a man walked onstage and started shooting at the members of the band Damageplan. As of now, 5 people are confirmed dead, including members of the band and possibly their tour manager, along with the shooter who was shot by police and possibly a road crew member working at the nightclub. CONFIRMED dead include lead guitarist, Dimebag Darrell and possibly the lead singer Patrick Lachman. Both were former members of the Dallas, TX band Pantera....truly Texas rock legends.....The original news story from Columbus can be found here. The BBC, CNN and MTV are also covering the story. Evidently some guy, possibly a disgruntled Pantera fan (according the witnesses posting on the Damageplan message board) snuck in through a back entrance and walked onto the stage from the side and was yelling at Dimebag Darrell before proceeding to shoot him point blank 5 or 6 times. The shooter then began to shoot at others before he was gunned down by police. Lots of different versions of the story are coming in. I'm sure more details will come available tomorrow....truly a sad day though for the rock/metal/MUSIC community though.

Absolutely insane how things like this happen. Actually pretty speechless about the whole thing. The situation seems so surreal. I'm off to study a bit for my Organic final and try not to think about this too much....geez.....
